Throwback Thursday Cityscape Painting - "Chelsea Quilt"

Here's a #ThrowbackThursday piece from 2007, depicting the view from our first New York apartment in Chelsea. We had a grand view of the Empire State Building, which I painted as well, but even the windows and fire escapes of adjacent buildings were fascinating to look at. I loved the way the sun would rise over the buildings, creating a patchwork of textures and colors.
