February 2020 Newsletter - Lightest Darks & Darkest Lights

“The lightest light in a dark area is always darker than the darkest light in a light area.”

I was taught this concept in art school, and at first read it can be very confusing, but it is essential to understanding what makes an image hold together from a value standpoint.
