Plein Air Easton 2019 - Wake Painting

Kimberly and I had a good view of this boat just outside our window in Easton, Maryland, this week, so every morning I thought "I need to paint that."

Some of the most intense light and color happens just before the sun breaks the horizon in the morning. What made it even more interesting for me was the broken shadow shape created by the wake of other boats passing by on their way out into The Chesapeake Bay.

Oil on Linen

Available tonight at the Plein Air Easton Competition and Arts Festival's Collectors Preview Party at the Academy Art Museum.
