Olmsted Plein Air Invitational - Swan House Dining Room Painting

This week, for the Olmsted Plein Air Invitational, I was allowed to paint in the dining room of the world famous Swan House at the Atlanta History Center (shout out to all The Hunger Games fans).

Donald Sutherland did not make an appearance, but the docents were incredibly gracious and encouraging as I tried to capture the sense of this beautiful room. This is actually the first chandelier I have ever painted. It's definitely a case of having to forget what you know and only painting what you see.
